After college, she was recruited by one of the largest vehicle manufacturers in the world, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Lexus Division. While working for Toyota, she volunteered for the Special Olympics Summer Games and in Downtown Los Angeles Skid Row as a tutor in reading.

Realizing her passion for helping others and making a positive contribution to the community, she retired from corporate America and worked for the Americorps VISTA Program. This placed her with the Center for the Pacific Asian Family, an organization that provides shelter and other resources to women and children of domestic violence and sexual assault. This organization taught her tolerance, respect for culture and the importance of being prepared.

Building on her experiences, she founded the Unity of Life Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides assistance to homeless and low-income individuals and families in California. Unity of Life's goal is to eliminate poverty and homelessness through family preservation and unification of the community.

In that spirit of community, Mrs. Chiles and her family are actively involved with the Multiple Sclerosis Society's Walk, city of Los Angeles Run/Walk for Victim's Rights, Little Legs-Big Hearts for Sickle Cell, in addition to being members of Faithful Central Bible Church.

Mrs. Chiles is currently the senior paralegal for Bezaire, Ledwitz and Associates and continues her passion to help others through estate administration.
