Giving Notice to Beneficiaries and Heirs
Probate Code Sections 16061.5-16061.8 require that upon the death of the trustor, the Successor Trustee of a revocable trust to provide a notice to all trust beneficiaries and all heirs at law even if the heir at law is not a trust beneficiary. The notice must specify that the person notified has a right to obtain a copy of the terms of the trust and has only a specified time (generally 120 days) in which to contest the trust.
